About Vinyl Graffiti There are many who might consider the numbers of designer toy fans to be just as small as the production runs of the toys the fans worship. Certainly, the designer toy trend is relatively new, having started in Japan in the early 1990's, but it has since spread to every corner of the globe, attracting people of all ages and social backgrounds. Just as graffiti artists are found exhibiting at leading museums and galleries, designer toy artists are finding similar fame. The similarity between designer toys and graffiti art doesn't stop there. With the introduction of many DIY designer toy platforms, a new artform of customizing toys has evolved, providing artists with a new and exciting medium to channel their artistic flair. Launched in July 2009, Vinyl Graffiti aims to bring together these fans, designers and customizers of designer toys. While we don't envisage providing the level of networking offered by the likes of Myspace, Facebook, Twitter etc, we do hope to develop a thriving community site. By enabling members to create a profile and add links to accounts on other networking sites, we are more about enabling members to catalog their designer toy collections, make wish lists and buy, sell or trade toys with other members. We're a new site, developing new and exciting features as fast as we can. If you have comments or suggestions, we've added a folder in forum where you can share your ideas.
