Can I buy any of the toys listed in the library from Vinyl Graffiti? Do I need to register? You don’t need to register to browse the library of designer toys. However, by registering, you can create an online profile, add toys to your collection and network with other fans of designer toys around the world. Register here Return to top How do I edit my profile? After registering, the first thing you will want to do is edit your profile. To edit your profile, click on 'My Profile' on the right hand navigation menu. You can complete as many fields as you wish. Your profile includes information such as: Location: Country/state. This allows members to easily find fellow designer toy fans in their area. We urge members who wish to sell or trade toys with other members to complete these fields so that potential buyers know where a toy will be shipped from. email: Your email is used only to send messages to you, such as password/username reminders, notifications that you have received a message from a fellow member and important news concerning Vinyl Graffiti. PLEASE BE ASSURED, VINYL GRAFFITI WILL NEVER DISCLOSE OR SHARE YOUR EMAIL WITH 3rd PARTIES OR OTHER MEMBERS. Designer/Collector/Customizer: Inform other members of the interests you have in designer toys as a designer, collector and/or a customizer. We plan adding additional features relevant to each of these interest areas in due course. Biography: Here you can enter a short bio introducing yourself and your love of designer toys to other members. Social Hangouts: Let other members easily connect with you on other social networking sites or to find your personal website/blog. Images: Upload a banner that will appear at the yop of your profile page. Also, add an avatar that will enable other members to easily recognize your postings on the forum and on other member profile pages. IMPORTANT: REMEMBER TO UPDATE THE STATUS FIELD AT THE TOP OF THE PROFILE EDIT PAGE TO 'DISPLAY SO THAT OTHERS CAN SEE MY PROFILE'. Return to top Why am I not listed on the member page? Check that the status field in your profile is set to 'Display so that others can see my profile'. To check your status, click on 'My Profile' in the right hand navigation bar, change your status setting if needed and SAVE. Return to top How does the mailbox work? In addition to leaving comments on other members profile pages, you can also send a mail direct to other members. The mailbox primary use is to enable you to contact members who wish to sell or trade a designer toy in their collection. NOTE THAT THE VINYL GRAFFITI MAILBOX DOES NOT SHARE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WITH THE RECIPIENTS OF YOUR MESSAGES. Return to top How do I add designer toys to my collection? In order to add toys to your collection, you need to be registered and logged in. When signed in, click on ‘My Toys’ in the right hand menu and select ‘All Toys’ from the category drop down menu. If you are in the list view, enter the quantity in the 'Have' box for the toy and save. If you are in the icon view, click on the image of the toy you wish to add and enter the quantity you have of that toy in the 'Have' box below the image and save. Return to top How do I add toys to my wishlist? In order to add toys to your wish list, you need to be registered and logged in. When signed in, click on ‘My Toys’ in the right hand menu and select ‘All Toys’ from the category drop down menu. If you are in the list view, enter the quantity in the 'Want' box for the toy and save. If you are in the icon view, click on the image of the toy you wish to add and enter the quantity you are looking to own in the 'Want' box below the image and save. Return to top How do I remove toys from by collection or wish list? To remove toys from your collection or wish list, click on the ‘My Toys’ link on right hand side of page and select ‘list view’ followed by selecting either ‘My Collection’ or ‘My Wish List’ from the drop down menu under collection. You can then delete or change the value to 0 for the toy/s you want to remove. Don’t forget to click save against the toy you wish to remove. Return to top What type of toys are allowed in the Designer Toy library? Our goal is to include toys from around the world that fall into the designer toy category. A designer toy is generally regarded as a collectible toy with a production run of just a few to several thousand. We currently include toys made of vinyl, plastic, resin, polystone, wood, metal. One category we don’t currently include is plush, although this category may be added in the future – let us know if you would like to have plush included - or any other material for that matter. Return to top I have toys that aren’t listed in the designer toy library, can I add them? We welcome members to add toys to the library – in fact without your help it will prove very difficult to build a fully encompassing library of designer toys from around the world. Currently all toys submitted to the library are reviewed by Vinyl Graffiti prior to being made live on the site. Therefore, if you submit a toy, there will be a delay before the toy shows up in the library. When the toy is added to the library, you will be notified by email and credited on the toys' detail page with a link to your profile. Return to top How do I find toys that members are looking to sell or trade? To search for toys that members are looking to trade or sell, click on the top navigation link 'Buy & Trade'. Return to top I want to sell or trade a toy, how do I do that?
Vinyl Graffiti enables collectors to advertise designer toys that they wish to sell or trade. Rather than providing a shopping cart, Vinyl Graffiti is more akin to classified ads, whereby a seller lists the toys they want to sell and vinyl Graffiti members interested in the toy then contact the seller expressing their interest (and asking for further details if applicable). In order to sell a toy, you first need to have added it to your collection. If the toy you wish to trade or sell is in your collection, go to the ‘My Toy’ icon or list view and select ‘My Collection’ from the category drop down menu. If you are in the icon view, mouse over the image of the toy you wish to sell or trade and enter the number of toys you wish to sell or trade. If you are in the list view, check the box in the sell/trade column against the toy you wish to sell or trade. IMPORTANT: Once you have flagged the toys you want to sell or trade, select the ‘My Sell/Trade List’ from the category drop down menu and in list view enter the price if you wish to sell and select the sell radio button and click on the green save button. If you wish to trade your toy, simply select the trade radio button and save. Return to top I want to buy or trade a toy I’ve seen listed by a member? Although Vinyl Graffiti does not provide a shopping cart to purchase toys directly from other members, you can search and find toys that are being sold or traded by members and use the online contact form to send the seller a message indicating your interest and to ask questions. Return to top How can I be sure the person selling/trading the toy is trustworthy? As with buying any product from a private individual via a website or print classifieds, you need to be prudent when deciding to buy from someone you don't know personally and where location of buyer/seller makes it impossible to meet face to face to complete the exchange. We encourage Vinyl Graffiti members who have traded with another member to leave comments on the other party's profile page describing their buying or selling experience. We plan in the near future to add a feature for traders and buyers to grade each transaction. Should you have a problem with a trade, we ask you report it to Vinyl Graffiti immediately so that we may investigate and, if necessary, suspend any member found to be acting in a fraudulent manner.
